Pizzaperta, The Star

What is a good date night if there's no DESSERT. After Francis and I finished off our amazing dinner at Sokyo, we headed back outside to give Pizzaperta Manfredi a try. I have to admit although I love sugary and sweet food, the thought of "chocolate pizza" usually gives me the chills.

So when my sister handed me a voucher because she won a free dessert pizza at Pizzaperta via The Star casino, I knew I would have to revisit "chocolate pizza" somehow. In a choice between their two dessert pizza's - tiramisu and Nutella, we actually went with Nutella 😱

Pizzaperta is an open air pizzeria and bar. It's hard to miss, being right outside the Star where the big block letters are. For many of us who get to The Star by walking past Darling Harbour, we've all probably wondered what this place is. It's always popular with people hanging outside for some pizzas and drinks!

The service is super friendly and casual. We hand the voucher over and the guy behind the POS and he's like "Congratulations. You managed to hand this in before it expires tomorrow" hehehe 😇

You are handed one of those alarms that buzz and alert you when your food is ready. There is this awesome little stand opposite the bar where you can grab things like extra menus, utensils, tissues, straws, etc. The utensils are so beautifully packaged in a recyclable pouch and they come in black or white. Unfortunately the utensils are plastic and not recyclable as well. Let me review the tissues too because they are nice, thick and lush perfect for all the hands on pizza action that is about to ensue.

It's super popular tonight and we're lucky to even find some seating next to an older couple who seem to be meeting up for some drinks and discussing some serious work business. Their conversation seem super intense until Francis comes back over and we open the pizza box. They look over and they're like "Omg that looks delicious" ~

I actually agree…

Nutella Pizza $18
- I did NOT expect this. It's not like your traditional pizza at all. In fact these are like almond slice and Nutella-filled pockets of folded pizza dough, topped with powdered sugar, mint, strawberries, vanilla ice cream and it actually works really well, we loved this!!
- Each pocket is generously stuffed with heaps of Nutella. At first we were cutting into it with a knife and fork but there was too much Nutella vs. pizza dough so I had to pick it up and get my hands all messy (no big deal tbh)
- The vanilla ice cream was delicious with so much vanilla flavour, but I wish there was more of that and strawberries in order to cut through the Nutella richness. Also the mint was sparse but I guess it's just a garnish

I honestly loved the Nutella pizza here, it truly changed my perspective on dessert pizzas. The dough was quite of fluffy, thick and chewy. Just how I like it! It makes me excited to come back here and try their savoury pizzas especially if it's made with the same dough. Until next time! xx

TL;DR:
Price: Expensive
Quality: Seems very freshly made
Service: Friendly
Ambience: Out in the open but still, good vibes!
