I'll be writing about one of my most favourite snacks found in Sydney today. Found inside Haymarket's Market City shopping centre, just outside Thaikee IGA we have this little hidden gem.. Rotikon! ✨

It's a little shop selling "Malaysian street food". It's not as popular as the Taste of Cho shop nearby so luckily Fran and I don't wait for too long in the line during lunch time, and also we were able to get a seated spot on the stools on the side. The staff are all very friendly and happy to see you when they serve you which I find really cute~

Fran and I opt to go for the titular menu item; the rotikons… and we're so glad we did! These are cone-shaped roti (they don't unravel) filled with salad and your choice of meat. I think I like this idea MUCH better than that pizza cone trend a few years ago. When ordering, there's so many great options on the menu for the fillings but we choose our favourites of the lot.


It was so good to try! My sister who has been here quite a few times has also told me she's tried every other option for the filling on the menu and it's all really good. Her favourite is the beef rendang. I'll second that!

Our only negative is that the rotikons are truly only a snack food item and we were still hungry after. But of course, the shop also offers really great value $9.80 meal deals, and $6.90 rice boxes which would definitely be a better option if you're just on the go and looking for a tasty lunch! There's also occasionally lots of vouchers available via Groupon for this place online, so keep it on your watch ~
