I loved the name of this place and their whole concept from the moment I heard it which was when Genvin from Cardinal Spin invited me to dine at Chef's Gallery's newest spin off, Holy Duck. And we're so thankful that we did. We also will soon be reviewing Chef's Gallery with their latest menu so look forward to that!


Holy Duck! is located in the cool and convenient location of Chippendale's iconic Kensington Street. A new and continually budding foodie paradise. From the outside, it looks quite small and you could almost miss it if you're not looking out for the orange Holy Duck signage. At night, the neon signs featuring the duck with a halo (a holy duck, geddit?) and some Chinese characters behind the steel bar window are much more bright and prominent and I love how it gives off an oriental alleyway bar vibe.


A step inside this little restaurant reveals a much more spacious and trendy dining area. The look is quite industrial with the cross between the warm rustic and slightly tattered brick walls, wooden furniture and then the caged metal light bulbs. What stands out the most is the big and bright neon signage. You can't miss it and it's quite epic!





My dining partner this day is Patrick who I'm super excited to be bringing along!



We're seated at a nice table towards the back where we have a great view of everything going on in the restaurant. Our waitress Phuong was all smiles and extremely cute, helpful and friendly. I absolutely adored her and she definitely provided amazing customer service. All the other staff were also really great but it was her who stood out the most to us.


In the middle of admiring the table set up, we're handed our menu and she makes some suggestions on the menu which we really appreciate. The dishes majority feature duck, yet if you're in the mood for other meats that is available too. The food type is modern Chinese/Asian fusion truly showcasing an east meets west menu. Everything literally sounds so tasty and delicious... so I relied a lot on Patrick's decisiveness to choose what we ordered otherwise I might've ended up getting one of everything.





The restaurant is a little quiet when we entered around 6pm, but only a good couple of minutes later it quickly becomes packed and abuzz with the afterwork crowd. The vibe is really good so Pat and I start things off with a couple of beers. Unfortunately the special Holy Duck pale ale was out of stock but the Tiger beer and Asahi beers we order were very cool and refreshing, easily paired with all our dishes for the night.





We were starving when our first dish arrived and lets say it was an entree worth waiting for.

Recently I had another amazing opportunity from Social Soup to try out as well as promote Steggle's newest Turkey range. When I think of turkey, I think of American Thanksgivings. And coming from the land down under where we don't celebrate that means I've never tried turkey before in my life. So I'm very excited to present to everyone how this experience went.

Steggles has a range of different turkey products to choose from such as turkey mince, turkey rissoles, turkey breast steaks and turkey wing niblets. Each is available to purchase from Coles and the Steggles website features a range of amazing recipes that you can use to inspire your next cooking venture.

I was overwhelmed with the choices but in the end went with something that proved to be quick, easy and delicious. These are the groceries I used and below that is the recipe from steggles.com.au! I didn't follow it exactly but it is very versatile.












I enjoyed how a few simple grocery items put together in less than 20 minutes could turn into something so tasty. In fact the first time I made this recipe was before work and because there is no preparation needed, I wasn't rushing or late. It's certainly very helpful that I also picked up prepackaged salad and you can mix and match out with what you like and don't like. I had these for lunch later that day and they were so good!

I highly recommend trying out Steggle's Turkey rissoles to make your own little sliders, and checking out the rest of the Steggle's Turkey range! Turkey is said to be nature's very own supermeat as it is super lean and packed full of good proteins and vitamins. This makes it a great and versatile alternative to other meats! If you're health conscious but not willing to compromise on taste, this is what I would go on to recommend. Happy cooking! 

Aside from reviewing restaurants another really fun thing I love to do as a food blogger is review new products and play around in the kitchen with them! Thanks to Social Soup I've had the amazing opportunity to do so in the past with the likes of Chobani and Peckish Crackers! Todays post is about my most recent Social Soup project with Gourmet Garden Australia on their brand new Finishing Drizzles range.

When I first received my package for this project, I was so surprised at all the amazing perks in the large foam box. I received a Gourmet Garden cooler bag + ice packs with one of each new Finishing Drizzles (6 in total), a bamboo tablet holder, a BBQ tools and apron kit, and a generous $20 Coles gift voucher.

My initial impression of the Finishing Drizzles was that I loved the delicious pictures they all had on the front. These pictures really served as inspirations for which meats I decided to team my drizzles up with. With that in mind, I headed on over to Coles to use the voucher and pick up some fresh ingredients and meats for my creations!


What I found so cool was at Coles in the meat section, Gourmet Garden Finishing Drizzles were conveniently displayed right by their recommended match! And what I will soon come to find is that this is so perfect when you don't know what to cook for a meal, or you just want that meal to be as easy as possible.

The idea is that these are the perfect accompaniment to grilled meats "lamb, fish, steak or chicken". All you have to do is shake up the packet, tear off the nozzle side, and drizzle it over your choice of meat. Unfortunately my BBQ is out of action so I also didn't get the chance to use the cool BBQ tools sent to me either but this does not take away from all the ways you can use these drizzles.

I still haven't gotten around to trying all of the wonderful flavours of drizzles sent to me. To mention, I haven't tried the Salsa Verde and Chermoula - but by the positive experiences I've had so far with the flavours I'm going to say that they are going to be just as impressive!
